Excellence in Academics begins with an integrated approach to tutoring!
We first understand the individual, his/her needs & academic level and identify the intellectual and emotional challenges. It is then that we teach.
Unless specifically requested, we keep the majority of our sessions one-on-one with one of our tutors and the student. We do offer reduced rate group sessions as well.

Online Tutoring
We provide quality customized in-person tutoring for college-bound students on the Monterey Peninsula and surrounding areas. And now, we provide online tutoring services via Zoom or Skype! (If you would like this service, please fill out the “Contact Us” form, and we will respond within 24 hours to set up a Skype or Zoom appointment.)
Test Preparation
We provide the instruction, practice, and confidence-building to assist students to prepare for exams. We have done extensive research on the SAT & ACT and have our own individualized 9-week courses that include diagnosis of strengths & weaknesses. We also prepare students for private school entrance exams, the PSAT and many other common nationalized exams.
Special Needs
Having worked one-on-one with students for over twenty years, Excellence in Academics recognizes that each individual learns differently, and we strive to meet the specific needs of each student. Whether a student has ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, auditory processing disorder or other challenges, we build trust and communication with each student to work as a team to find the very best means to assist him or her.
